Dr. Andreea Moldovan

Dr. Andreea Moldovan

Speaker, ROMANIA / European Hand Hygiene Excellence Award

Presentation: "Screening for MDRB - a small step for us, a big step for the antibiotic resistance"
Hands' hygiene, the first and the easiest medical act ever learnt, stands for the foundation of all activities going on in a hospital. By consequently and accurately applying the rules as far as hands' hygiene is concerned, altogether with the rest of prevention methods (screening, antibiotic stewardship, the hygiene of the indoor spaces, the gathering of the microbiology data, good medical practices), we can say there is a complex and efficient plan in the prevention of nozocomial infections, which has proved its functionality. Just as we have learnt from others, we are ready and willing to pass on these logical and simple rules (principles) in order to be implemented in as many hospitals as possible. We are trying to give a helping hand in the continuous improvement of the medical services in Romania by means of pro bono courses, internships, communicates, articles/reviews, cooperation with hospitals in Romania and abroad. Cooperation, communication, continuous learning process are the key to success. Let's just learn them.
